MCN LETTER OF THE DAY

So I hear all surival bivi bags, road traffic workers uniforms and road signs will be changed to black.

Ian Mutch's ill concieved rant about Canaries ( with regard to high vis clothing).

1000s of years of evolution show that certain colours stand out.
It is total rubbish to dismiss this fact.

Last year I was at Creg n brae waiting for my mate looking back up the mountain.  I spotted him but was amazingly surprised that they were 6 bikes in front when he arrived at the pub, he had a hi viz jacket on (they did not).

It worries and is scary when people make statements that hold no basis in science as fact.

I would back freedom but do not say that wearing bright colours does not increase your chances of been seen, it is TOTAL RUBBISH

I ride a bright yellow bike with hi viz jacket so what.......that's my choice.

If you disagree buy a hi viz jacket and give to a friend then get on a 2-3 mile straight .

This is all you need but please printing ridiculous statements that defy evolution  ..........................rant over

Who knew there was a Letter Of The Day?

I don't disagree that hi-viz can make you easier to see in certain conditions if the driver is actually looking, but compulsory hi-viz is a weak effort to improve safety when what's really needed is better driver awareness and training, and better visibility in "safer" modern cars.
