Honda eager to give MotoGP chance to Jonathan Rea

Honda will push to find a MotoGP spot in 2015 for current World Superbike championship leader Jonathan Rea. The Ten Kate Honda rider has rocketed into the points lead in WSB after three successive wins, including a stunning double at the previous round in Imola. The 27-year-old has flirted with a MotoGP move and he has previously been linked with Gresini...

Your dead right, It would be a backward step for JR to take a Honda Production ride. Give the guy the right bike and he would be podium material. His two rides on Stoners bike a few years ago were pretty impressive when you consider he was told not to bin it and he was on a strange bikes with strange tyres . my guess is  he will still be in WSB this time next year and this is just another MCN story to keep us intrested

I jus't hope Honda don't mess with Jonathan's head right now. Let's keep #65 focussed on the WSBK title. Honda has been keeping him on the team by prommising good upgrades on the Blade or maybe even the illustrious V4 production street bike wich was rumored to be coming for years. Rea has ridden a mediocre Honda for at least 4 seasons, and has anihalated all his team mates in the process. Now finally the Ten Kate Blade seems on point, and Jonathan is riding better than ever! Rea deserves a WSBK title so much. Get this done HRC, and get some fast parts to ten Kate. Back up your promisses.

Unless "It is unlikely Rea could clinch one..." is a typo and it should read "likely" it sounds like they are saying "we love you Jonny but screw you."

Why would he bother with an uncompetitive production bike? Is Lorenzo's seat in danger?

Don't forget that Redding is running Showa and Nissin not the Ohlins and Brembo the other two have.

It would be an insult to put him on a production bike. Give him Pedrosa's bike or leave him in WSB, double his wages and send him flowers and presents every time he wins a WSB race on a bike that technically should probably be finishing last!

Production Honda no thanks!

Got to be a complete dime bar to get on a prodution Honda. If that's the only option stay where you are, more fun having 2 races anyway!

Believe it when I see it

Honda hasn't taken a superbike rider to a full time MotoGP ride since when? It was American Honda that muscled Hayden in. Tamada got the RCV Bridgestone ride but it was paid by Bridgestone not Honda and that's only after Colin Edwards turned it down. From Edwards, Toseland, Vermulen, etc Honda hasn't taken anyone to MotoGP fulltime. Not even Honda boy Ryuichi Kiyonari. We have heard for years how Honda is going to bring an awesome Blade to WSBK for Rea and how they are going to bring him to MotoGP and neither has happen. Rea has wasted some prime years waiting on Honda to deliver and it hasn't happen. I think Rea has left it too late to go to MotoGP. Actually, I don't see anyone that's good enough for GPs in WSBK at the moment.

get him on Bautistas or Bradls bike. They have done nothing to deserve those rides next year.

I also dont see anyone else on the grid, perhaps Aleix Esp aside, who really warrant a prototype either.

Kiyonari replaced the late Daijiro Kato for the rest of the 2003 season after winning the Japanese ST600 championship and an All-Japan Superbike win the year before.
