Marco Simoncelli honoured as MotoGP legend

Marco Simoncelli, the rising star of MotoGP who tragically lost his life in a racing accident at Sepang in 2011, has been inducted as a MotoGP Legend on the opening day of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. Simoncelli’s emotional father Paolo accepted a special medal on behalf of his son, who was known to millions of fans around...

I wouldn't call them dirty

but reckless. And I like that, even if I always felt Simo was potentially more dangerous, especially in 250cc, it was still racing. The margin of appreciation between MS and AB depends only of which rider both has "taken out" though. Don't, under any circumstances, touch the GOAT.

The Mugello incident last year, was just that, a racing incident. Bautista should've known there was traffic in the first lap but Rossi was trying too hard to make up for his horrible start. Of course Bautista took all the flak.

Simoncelli had talent, a world championship, personality, charisma and died young. He had that young Gazza appeal of being daft as a brush but somehow loveable with it. That's why they've made him a legend.

Complain about his erratic riding all you like, but I bet everyone here would love to see him out there today.

And out of respect, just for once could you leave anything to do with Valentino Rossi out of this conversation please?

Simoncelli dirty?

The weight of evidence against him would certainly suggest so. Bautista not dirty but he could fairly be judged to have moments of over exuberant recklessness. Mugello last year was not one though, well not by Bautista at least.

Respect

 Let's have some respect on this one!!!  Marco was a character in MotoGP. No he may not have been the fastest rider out there, but he was good to watch on and off the track. We need more like him in the sport.

Legend!

Nostro = leave it

RIP Marco

It's a joke and I couldn't give a **** if anyone thinks it's disrespectful to say so. The tribute stuff has been done to death and it's no longer about the tragic loss of a competitor.

A new foundation, a presentation, another t-shirt/helmet/leathers/coffee cup or some other pukeworthy stunt for his 'good' buddy Valentino to parade around like a grieving fkn widow all weekend? At least it might give Marquez a break from having to lead Flo around like a lost fkn puppy!

It should be RESPECT in Peace, not this fkn clown show!
