Riding a long way slowly

I've got a charity project underway, to raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.  My Dad's got advanced prostate cancer and I wanted to do 'my bit'.

This year is 50 years since Dad and some of his mates blagged some Honda C110's (50cc 4-strokes) from Honda to enter the ACU National Road Rally.  They were very successful, covering 600 miles in 24hrs on bikes that only managed 45mph down a hill.  They came second overall and many of them, Dad included, got a Gold Award.

I've decided to repeat his adventure this year, on a 1965 Honda C110.  I started restoring the bike last year and finally got it on the road about a month ago.  The restoration process has been interesting to say the least and I've documented it on my blog: here.

Please have a look and, if you are so inclined, follow the link on the blog to my sponsorship page.

Cheers!

The link in your post didn't work, so hopefully this one will.

Brilliant

There is not enough emphasis on male specific cancer.

Whenever you see and hear of events taking place, they always seem to be for Women only.

Most cancer charity advertising features Women.

It feels like Men are largely being overlooked.

It seems to me that female specific cancers are the only one's getting any real publicity.

Prostate cancer accounts for just as many deaths as female breast and cervical cancer, and deserves just as much publicity, but sadly it seems to be largely ignored by the media.

Thanks!

Cheers Barney for correcting the link.

Thanks for positive responses too.  It is true that male cancers have been overlooked, but there have been some high profile campaigns on Prostate Cancer recently.  Hopefully these will succeed in raising awareness.
