From Surtees to Hailwood to Sheene to Fogarty to Dunlop to McGuinness to Hodgson, Toseland, Sykes and at least one more Dunlop - these are the men who made British racing great. MCN's experts selected 40 top British racers from a shortlist of over 300. Now we need you to nominate the one rider who stands above all others. Select...

Easy

Mike Hailwood

In fact he'd probably get quite a few votes for "Of All Time"

Best british racer

The best Brit racer has to be Hailwood, could ride and win on all types and classes of bike, sometimes in the same day! Came back and won the TT and throughout did it all with class, style and respect and comradeship for his opponents. There won't be another like him.

Hidden down the bottom

John Surtees was kinda hidden out of sight at the very bottom there. Motorbike and car world championships? Surely he's unique and a full pace ahead of the others...

Joey

For me it has to be Joey Dunlop, what spirit and he loved evry minute of it, every single minute of it. He's the Maun so he is, so he is!

JOEY DUNLOP

Joey Dunlop for me. He could ride anything on any day. Prepared his own bikes . And did nt shout about any of it. Let your riding do the talking as they say. I was at his last TT and it was hard to beleive just how popular he was.  He was your Maun for sure.
