Yamaha delighted with Valentino Rossi’s resurgence

Senior Yamaha management have admitted being delighted and surprised by Valentino Rossi’s resurgent form in the 2014 MotoGP world championship. The Italian’s brilliant second place in Sunday’s thrilling Catalunya race was the fifth time in seven races that the nine-times world champion has finished on the podium this season. That is only one rostrum less than the 35-year-old managed in the...

Lorenzo may not rely on late braking when riding his own lines, I agree

But when he is not able to ride his own lines and is racing wheel to wheel then he can't ride his ideal line for corner speed and if he needs to get past that rider, he needs to be able to either outbrake them into a corner or get better drive out of a corner, the latter usually preceding the former.

If he feels that his bike is not good enough on the brakes to achieve this, then it's reasonable to assume he may have asked Yamaha for improvement in that area

Are you going to deny that we have seen Lorenzo beat Marquez and Stoner in races, not just by leading from the start but by overtaking them, more than once at times, during the race. And that to do that he has had to pass them on the brakes into a corner. Lorenzo may not use late braking as his natural style, but when he needs to do it, he can.

Nice contribution Chump, above your usual level

What a race

Only had the chance to watch it now. Rossi is probably on the form of his life imo, if he rode like this against Sete, Loris and Kenny Jnr he'd have lapped the field... its only good for second now.

I still  think Jorge will overhaul him before the end of the year though, he pushed Marc harder in Mugello. If Yamaha can bring the updates on a regular basis they will both improve, having two experienced riders with similar styles will aid them in this.

Pardon me but

The system you want to fcuk owns Yamaha , Rossi , Movistar , Dorna et al and you seem to have sold yourself to that  :) .When youre a little older and more experienced you'll realise the system employs you (Uses if you will) whether youre paid for it or not

Geeez, i know Yamaha are a piano and guitar maker but i didn't know they bought me out to dissolve my trash metal into pop and play it to the benefit of the Olympics or the world Cup, instead i attend alternative gigs to the benefits of homeless and it feels a lot better.

Here i share my experience as rider and passion for two wheels, it's my past, i have been for decades (even while active as a biker) and still am a musician now, and if you want to compare my style to "Sir" Mc Cartney, here is a band i sound pretty much like, but i guarantee you, you would mistake Hells Angels for two-wheeled copers thinking this way.

ps the last track i wrote runs at 232 bpm at the 16th and i love it. Cheers.
