What new bike?

My fantastic wife has told me I can have a new bike.

I have a maximum of £7500 but am really struggling to decide which one I want.
I like all types of bikes and currently have a XJR 1300 which I will be keeping.

It's not very often the wife agrees to let me spend money and don't want the pass on the offer.

for a sports tour-type.

An absolutely lovely bike... the most practical bike I've ever owned was the GSXF650. Its a lot cheaper than that price and you'll probably be looking higher end.... but give one a test ride and see what I mean.

For speed and thrill... a GSXR1000... but with that would come the knee pain.

That would be my choices anyway.

These questions are so tiresome

You'll get a dozen differing opinions and end up more confused than before.

Best idea,
