Suzuki preparing for Valencia wild card appearance

Suzuki’s new 1000cc MotoGP contender is set to make its much anticipated race debut in the final round of the 2014 world championship in Valencia in November. Plans for one or more wild card appearances for the new bike have been kicked around for months, but it seems Valencia will be the first time Suzuki will go up against Honda, Yamaha...

What are they going to race?

Vee four, inline four or Quasimoto's twin cranked 'vee' four? Ha, ha, ha.

Good idea Suzuki

I would of thought it was a no brainer to make at least one wildcard appearance towards the end of this season. I don't think anyone will be able to judge the potential of Suzuki's new bike until the Sunday afternoon at Valencia. So far, in the tests, they actually seem to have fallen behind the other manufacturers. I remember their first 'public' test at Catalunya after the 2013 race where de Puniet managed a lap only +0.7 off the fastest time. But in the recent Catalunya test he was something like +3 seconds off. Obviously, they've had to adjust to the electronics but I'm trying to keep my expectations low until they actually get out on track in a race weekend.

What's the betting

that the Suzuki will be in the gravel, inside of 3 laps, with Mr de Puniet on board.

It will be a complete waste of time doing just one race, without a current top rider they will be lucky to finish in the top 15. Give Tom Sykes a run out or pay lots of money for Stoner to do a one off.

Oh God........

RDP in a race again! What a lucky bloke. Maybe the presence of his beautiful lady got him the job? At best the Suzuki will need 4 new brake/clutch levers and a few fairings and a quick clean up. At worst...........................................................Answers on a postcard to 'PO BOX Ooops'!
