Good idea

don't know if adding the reflective compound to the rubber mix would work, but hey why not? i've seem different colour tyres which didn't catch on,but this is more of a safety add on like side stand switch etc.

Very Tron!

I already have reflective rim tape but this is different. I really like the idea, and its well executed too. I suppose the pin-stripe stops glowing when you're stationary and might take a second or two to come on once you exit a junction, which is where it might have been most useful. It looks like it's not available internationally yet. I'd consider getting a set if the price was right. I'm not worried about faddishness, I'm still wearing iridium visors!

Hmm

from the safety angle it would possibly be a good add on, however I get a feeling that in time when some really intelligent (cough) minister sees this they will become compulsory.

My own opinion is I think they are a good idea but are also a bit of a distraction to the eye and may cause more accidents than they prevent.

Speaking of a distracion on the eye

Does anyone remember those wheels that appeared to be turning even after the car had stopped.
