Even if he's not

everyone else is. It's really noisy out there tonight. Tractors, trailers, combines, they're all really busy.. Hay and oilseed rape have been started over the last two weeks and there were three combines starting on wheat when I was ccming home from work today.

Watch out for spilled grain on bends. Slippery stuff.

So nice to be wearing summer kit every day for a while :smile

beelady....

does oil seed rape smell as bad when it's harvested as it does when it's flowering....one of my least favourite country smells.

No.

Nothing smells that bad. Although my bees love it more than anything else so I can't complain to much.

no he isn't....

quite literally not working in that 'field' at the moment......now just van man, cursing those bloody tractors...seriously though I do miss that work, if a little hectic at this time of the year.

When I took my bike test the 'circuit' (in those good old days when the tester popped up at various places around the circuit ) the tester got me to do my emergency stop right near the local grain silo, my rear wheel nearly met the front !....but I still passed. :smile

I love tractors.

I still get to drive the little Fergie sometimes but the big new ones are a mystery to me. Even getting into the seat is a bit of an adventure nowadays

I'm not suprised you miss it, Steve. Once you've got it in the blood you can't stop being interested in looking over the hedges and seeing what everyone else is doing all year round.
