Circuit of Wales to host British GP

The Circuit of Wales has today announced a five-year deal with the owners of MotoGP – Dorna – to host the British GP, taking the reins from Silverstone. The only problem for the Circuit of Wales is that they don't yet have a circuit built, with the development site located north of Ebbw Vale, close to the Rassau Industrial Estate,...

Good News

Any circuit will be better than Silverstone. Might be good for the riders but for spectating its shite

Would prefer it back at Donny, but the C of W looks like it will be a good circuit when built

Silverstone should never have been awarded it - its a car circuit

what a sack of shyte

Donington is a dump not fit to host a car boot sale and it never was any good for close racing ,The fact is those greedy Basta**ds at dorna have outpriced the show and in a way its a good thing ,They dictate the machinery the riders and the venues,Lets hope it folds ,How can you sign a contract with a field and another thing who the f**ck wants to go to Wales thats not a british gp is it ,The series becomes a bigger joke by the day

Doesn't really matter what they shag does it?

A purpose built, modern grand prix track is better than anything you lot have in the UK currently. No?

Usual Hipocrisy Then!

Some strange people and comments for sure.....But then again its the MCN forum....so perhaps not!!

So if the 'British' GP is in England, then, that's okay, its the British GP right!!!  But was it to be staged in Wales. Scotland or Northern Ireland, then it isnt the 'British' GP...Err, Yeah right!!!

And, of course....if an Englishman wins, its a 'great result for England' and should it be a Scot, Welsh or Northern Ireland rider....then, needless to say its a 'great result for Britain'   Strange that eh!!!

Reassuring to know hypocrisy and racism is still going strong...sad tw..ts...Get a life.

5 year contract to a circuit that isn't even built yet (and probably won't ever be). Well done Dorna.

An Englishman winning would be a 'good day for England'. A Welshman winning would be a bloody miracle.

OK not going to stoop to level of some people here...do I have to point out that Wales is in Britain and therefore no reason why the British round HAS to be in England. Some pretty dumb comments about Wales...funny why so many of you come and ride through here then! And crash most of the time cos anything other than an empty track or a dual-carriageway and you're out of your comfort zone!

And if you check out all the comments on Youtube about the Anglesey circuit you'll see its pretty awesome too.

No way Jose!

It is simple! Not many spectators would travel huge distances to watch a MotoGP or any other race if travelling and facilities are not easy.
Like it or not London is the main city in the UK and for that reason any circuit close to it would attract public.
Who in good sense of reason would go to Wales on back roads to watch a race where there are very poor infrastructure to accommodate 90.000 people?
Try to book a B&B near Pancakestone and you will be left in a field  Brands is not very far away from Dover where the Eurotunnel or Ferrying is in place; the City Airport is close as well….so Brands IS the better choice; nothing against Wales nor Welsh but I will never go to Wales to watch anything!
