Brno MotoGP: Pedrosa ends Marquez streak

Marc Marquez' 2014 winning streak came to an end at Brno as team-mate Dani Pedrosa took the top honours. Marquez started from pole position but got a lack lustre start and was pushed down the field as factory Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo stretched out a lead. They have a slightly different chassis and settings, because of Dany size and weight and the issues he had last year with race consistancy, suspension linkages, swing arm etc.

They changed this early season because last year he wasn't finishing fast enough when the fuel was low, at the start of the season thay had overdone it slightly so it was the opposite.

Obviously, they are working faster than Yamaha racing at improving their bike, as for Marquez it could be a combination of his own settings and the way he needs to ride the RC to be fast with it, he couldn't get out of the turns as fast as usual.

He never realyl was gone, he is second in the championship just in case some hd forgoten (am sure you didn't) and always was fast ,there or about, good fortune for him not so for Marquez and he wins.

Well deserved victory anyway...

my understanding from

your many thoughtful and well argued posts De G, was that second in the championship even by only 4 points with 8 wins and 2 broken clavicles was abject failure.

Fellow Ducati rider Cal Crutchlow crashed out.

You've got to feel for Lucio. All that hard work securing a new sponsor with enough money to now run two bikes, and yet all he can sign for next year on the RCV are the dregs of motogp.

Wonder if Lucio has been smart and just got Cal on a team contract, whereby he can relegate him to the open bike and give some young gun with a bit of fight, intelligence and talent a shot on the production bike?

Great performance by Dani, blitzed his teammate fairly easily. MM's winning streak had to come to an end eventually. Good to see both yamaha's taking Marquez's scalp too. JL definitely regrouped and back on top form and also VR did a good job after his big crash and finger damage, biggest improver on the grid to the line.
