Motorcycle insurance advice: The affect of a ban on your cover

1 of 1

It’s a condition of most motorcycle insurance policies that you have to have a valid driving licence for you to be covered.

So if you have the misfortune to be banned and your licence is taken away your insurance is invalid for that period, leaving you uninsured if your bike should get nicked.

But if you get another person as a named rider on your policy whose licence is valid, that condition doesn’t kick in and you are still covered.
