Blackbird goes red

Honda’s 2002 Super Blackbird will only be changed in one respect from the current model, it will be available in Candy Blazing Red.

The eye-catching colour will add to those currently available; blue, silver and, of course, black.

The CBR1100XX was rumoured to be undergoing major changes for 2002 with a lighter chassis and a more powerful engine to bring it into line with Suzuki’s Hayabusa and Kawasaki’s ZX-12R.

But now it appears even minor tweaks have been ruled out for the new model. It’s just that colour change.

The price is expected to be the same as the current Blackbird’s: £8399.
