Out and about: Hunstanton

1 of 1

Hunstanton hands over a prime parking spot to motorcycles, close to the bandstand and nestled between amusement arcades and cafes.

There are some good routes to it to be found if you scour your map of East Anglia before setting off.

From the south, for example, the most direct route from Ely is the A10, up to King’s Lynn and then via the A149 to sunny Hunny. But that’s dull as the proverbial.

Try leaving Ely on the B1411 and join the A1101 up to Wisbech. That should liven up the journey. Then you can get a crack on along the A47 and A149 up to the resort itself.

Hunstanton itself is a fairly standard seaside resort but worth the trip for the number of bikes gathering. On a sunny day they can run into their hundreds.

On Sunday we found the national ZZ-R owners club there for a day trip along with 60-odd other bikes.
