Pierobon F042 Street tested

1 of 1

This stunning Pierobon F042 Street is the new road-legal version of a machine previously only available as a track bike and MCN was lucky enough to grab a first ride near the Bologna factory.

The bike is based on the 90bhp two-valve engine and exhaust system from a crashed Ducati Hypermotard 1100 but has a Pierobon frame, swingarm, fuel tank and seat unit combined with Ohlins forks and shock, Brembo radial brakes and Marcheshini wheels.

It’s so simple and clean yet looks like a bike from an established bike firm rather than a frame builder.

It’s so light as to be almost comedic when it actually comes to trying to get around a slower turn as I almost end up on the grass on the inside of the corner, such is the speed of the steering. With just 168kg of weight including half a tank of fuel there is very little weight to move about.
