Honda confirms it will not be at the NEC bike show

Honda has confirmed rumours it will not be attending this year’s NEC Motorcycle show in Birmingham as it concentrates on dealer launches for the new 2010 model range.
The move obviously saves a huge amount of money, something Honda is anxious to do globally in the face of the current economic situation, but it’s also claimed to be a strategy backed by Honda dealers in the UK.

Honda says dealers have already been told and they were supportive of the move to send more new dealer demonstration and exhibition bikes to dealers all over the UK rather than one show in Birmingham.

HONDA STATEMENT:
“Honda can confirm it has decided not to participate in this year’s International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC in November.

“The decision was taken following a range of budget and resource re-allocation measures within Honda, as well as from a wider consensus in Honda to reduce marketing costs and the focus on public shows in 2009 as a result of the economic  slowdown, and refocus on research and design investment and development.

“Whilst the Show is a main annual attraction for riders and bike enthusiasts to view forthcoming new models, Honda can assure its customers and all motorcyclists that they will not miss out.

“Honda  will be aiming to strengthen its focus on customer and dealer orientated  activities, to ensure that its new model range for 2010 can be seen and  experienced in the best possible way by the whole motorcycling community nationwide.”
