Police Discrimination - again

The Coventry Evening Telegraph has reported that “MOTORCYCLISTS snared by police clocking speeds of 130mph on a 60mph stretch of the A46 near Coventry are among those punished as part of a new tougher stance on speeding bikers.

Warwickshire police has been fast-tracking speeding motorcyclists through the courts with many of them finding themselves before magistrates within weeks rather than months.

Sergeant Adrian Davis from Warwickshire Police’s road policing unit said: “Why should we allow a motorcyclist who has been caught speeding to continue to ride their motorbike for several months before the case comes to court?

“We aim to get them in to court in a matter of weeks. It’s no good catching someone speeding in June and not prosecuting them until November.

“They will have had five months to continue riding around, possibly continuing to cause a danger to other road users by speeding or riding dangerously.”

The two speeding motorcyclists, who were caught on the A46 near Coventry were disqualified from driving for 21 days. The two men, who were both from Rugby, were also fined £395 and £495 respectively.

Last week a motorcyclist from Moseley in Birmingham, who was also snared travelling between 110mph and 130mph on the A46 near Salford Priors earlier in the summer, was fined £1000.

I have written a respose to them: “So Sergeant Adrian Davis is happy to fast track speeding motorcyclists through the courts, if as he says, he is not anti motorcyclists why has he singled them out for this discriminatory treatment?

is a speeding motorcyclist any worse than a speeding car driver?, I think not ! Sour grapes over the Bulldog Bash dressed up as a pseudo safety message more like”

This is yet another example of Police discrimination against Bikers, MCN do you want to take this up with them??
