TT 2010 television coverage starts tonight

The Biggest thing to hit the television screens this week isn’t anything to do with kicking a football, it’s the return of ITV4’s superb Isle of Man TT coverage which starts tonight.

Following on from their incredible footage at last year’s TT races, the same team will be screening the TT, starting on ITV4 at 9pm from tonight until Friday June 10.
A one-hour highlights package will be shown every day at 9pm until Friday June 10, with a one-hour show on Saturday at 10pm, and a full 2-hour review show on Sunday June 12th.

And if you haven’t got ITV4 you can also watch the shows on the ITV player online, and if you’re at the TT the footage will be shown on massive screens in Douglas.
For the first time ever in motorsport the team from North One will be using high definition on-board cameras and are already planning some amazing footage from their incredible super slo-mo camera.

Features will include interviews, insight and behind the scenes footage with all of the leading TT riders including John McGuinness, Guy Martin, Cameron Donald, Ian Hutchinson, Michael Dunlop and local racer Conor Cummins.  Reaction from Moto GP stars Jorge Lorenzo, Loris Capirossi and Angel Nieto will also be shown as they visit the Island for the first time and participate in parade laps.

You can read all about the parade laps exclusively in MCN next week as we ride with both MotoGP stars and follow Cameron Donald as he rides the GSV-R around the TT circuit.

The TV shows will be presented by leading ITV sports anchor Craig Doyle with commentary from ex racing legends Steve Parrish and James Whitham, both of whom have raced the TT course.  Local rider and former TT winner Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle will also provide expert analysis.

Neil Duncanson, North One Television CEO commented:  “Even though ITV will be heavily featuring the football World Cup we have been able to secure a major commitment from them to carry the 2010 TT races.  We’re sure that both bike and non bike fans are going to really enjoy some of the new production developments this year from one of the sports highlights of the year.”
