Best of bikemart: Modern classics up for grabs this week

1 of 5

We’ve been browsing MCN bikes for sale every day to bring you some of our top picks from over 10,000 motorcycles for sale.

Here’s just a few of the fantastic modern classic machines available this week:

Yamaha RD400

’86 Honda VF1000F, £750
Understated, 1000cc sports-tourer was among best of Honda’s early V4s
We say: Lacks style of 1000R and originality (and frailty) of VF750s but usable and subtly classy.

Honda CB400

’82 Honda GL500 Silver Wing, £1100
Oddball cruiser/tourer intended as ‘junior’ Goldwing. Never caught on.
We say: And with looks like this we can see why. Extra headlamp peak, screen and sissy bar doesn’t improve things, either.

BSA A65

’84 Suzuki GSX1100, £950
Toned down Katana styling clothed last of air-cooled GSXs. Worthy, but no classic.
We say: Decent nick and good value, though, and not many about, either.

Triumph TR6

’74 Honda CB750, £5000
Last of collectable, first model SOHC CBs. That and excellent condition explains price.
We say: 1968/9 K1s are THE ones to have – but this is close.
