Schwantz rides again at Mallory in Festival of 1000 Bikes

Race legend Kevin Schwantz will headline this year’s Festival of 1000 Bikes, held at Mallory Park on July 6/7/8.

The 1993 500GP World Champion will ride an ex-works Suzuki RGV500 around the Leicestershire track – the first time he’s returned to Mallory since the 1986 Race of the Year.

Also on the bill for this year’s event – which looks set to attract the mammoth crowds of last year’s – are Phil Read, Randy Mamola, Frankie Chili, Carl Fogarty, Mick Grant, Neil Hodgson, Tony Rutter, Trevor Nation, Ian Simpson and Terry Rymer. All will be riding historic race bikes, with more star names to be announced soon.

The Festival of 1000 bikes has grown in stature and size dramatically over the last three years, helped last year by three times world champion Kenny Roberts, who lapped Mallory on one of his old GP bikes.
