Motorcycle artist Gareth ‘Gruff’ Jones, who ran Gruffs Studio, has passed away at the age of 62 after a battle with brain cancer.

Gruff was closely involved with motorcycle racing over the last 35 years, racing on the roas and circuits from 1976-1997. Some of his paintings are owned by racers such as Valentino Rossi, Noriyuki Haga, Troy Bayliss and Carl Fogarty.

His daughter, Carolyne, said in a statement: “Gruff sadly lost his battle against brain cancer this week and this wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend will be missed by many who’s lives he touched. He will live on through his many pieces of artwork that he created with a passion, and with his absolute love of motorcycle racing.

“His funeral will take place at 2pm on Friday 16th March 2012 at Wreham Crematorium. For those wishing to attend his request was for as many people on their motorbikes as possible to come. “
