Seen any horrible potholes?

1 of 1

It’s that time of year again when the roads warm up after a hard winter and promptly disintegrate.

The latest survey of local authorities reveals that despite emergency government funding of £200m, two thirds of authorities can not afford to mend the current crop of potholes.

Perhaps even more worryingly, the survey by the Asphalt Industry Alliance uncovers the fact that 20% of minor roads have less than five years life left in them. The implication is clear: unless more money is spent on road maintenance, the problem is only going to get worse.

MCN wants to shame the worst authorities into spending more on road maintenance, and to help us do that we need photos of the worst potholes. If you’ve seen a truly horrible one, please take a picture, and email it to john.westlake@motorcyclenews.com.
