Last week’s MotoGP testing in Sepang kicked off another exciting year of Grand Prix and to celebrate we’ve rummaged in the MCN-TV archives and pulled out three cracking races for you.

In 1983 two Americans dominated Grand Prix racing. Roberts and Spencer took the championship right to the wire at Imola with Spencer clinching the title by just two points.

In 1985 Spencer showed his true class with the incredible feat of claiming both 250 and 500cc titles in the same year. Genius at work.

And finally, 1990 saw the dawn of the Rainey era. His exquisite motorcycle handling, dirt-track background and uncanny ability to steer the YZR500 with the rear wheel we will never forget.
