Possibly the greatest triumph of cottage-industry race-bike engineering ever to come to fruition, the Britten V1000 was the vision of one man. We fly to New Zealand for an incredibly rare opportunity to ride this iconic bike 20 years after it’s Isle of Man TT debut.

The ultimate nonconformist race bike, the Britten V1000 was hand-built by a dedicated team led by maverick engineer John Britten in New Zealand in the early ’90s. Only 10 bikes remain, and after a year of negotiations, MCN’s Adam Child flew half way around the world to ride it.

KTM 1190 Adventure R Scoop First Ride 
King of serious off-road, KTM, has BMW’s mighty GS firmly in it’s sights with the new 1190 Adventure. The Austrian manufacturer has played to its strengths, focusing on ergonomics, agility, light weight and performance using a V-twin from the RC8R superbike. It’s a big step forward from the go-anywhere KTM 990, but can it win a bigger slice of the huge on and off-road adventure market?
