Free safer mirrors for foreign truckers

Truckers coming in from the continent in left-hand drive trucks are being given a new kind of mirror glass that removes the dangerous blind spot created on the right hand side.

Left-hand drive trucks have a large blind spot in the right hand mirror which can easily hide vehicles overtaking on the right hand side.

To try and combat this, the Highways agency is fitting Fresenel lenses to trucks coming in from foreign ports.
Research from the trial will be published in the Spring.
