M3 / M25 junction - The worst road I know

The worse road I know for motorbikes is not some suburban or even urban street, but the southbound M3 at its junction with the M25.

The ‘day joints’ in the tarmac have been breaking up for seven or eight years now and are somewhere between 3″ and 12″ wide.

What makes this so bad is that most traffic is either travelling at high speed and changing lanes to allow the traffic from the M25 to come on, or it is crawling, meaning that bikes can only filter along this open joint.

Both actions are risky and dangerous even if on four wheels.

Unfortunately, I cannot take a photo of it at 70mph!

Whatever it costs to repair, it won’t be as expensive as paying out compensation when someone crashes (which is only a matter of time, if it hasn’t happened already).

Keep up the good work and keep our roads safe.
