Scare tactics for drivers

Police are hoping to scare drivers into getting insurance with signs on seized uninsured cars saying: “No insurance means no car.” 

The magnetic posters will be carried in transporter trucks used by Thames Valley Police and stuck on every car loaded onboard.

The force said last week it had seized almost 3,000 vehicles since new powers were introduced last year. 

PC Ian Leyland, of Thames Valley Police, said: “Uninsured and unlicensed drivers are more likely to have a collision.
