Cheshire County Council has made a step to reduce the number of motorcycle casualties on a notorious road for motorcycle deaths by introducing motorcycle-friendly crash barriers.

Motorcyclists make up one in 50 motorists on the twisty A437 but three quarters of deaths and serious injuries since 2004. The old crash barriers have been replaced with BikeGuard barriers, which have their upright support posts covered by an ‘under-run’.
