MCN repairs potholes

MCN spent a day repairing potholes using a revolutionary new technique that is quicker, cheaper and lasts longer than conventional methods.

Unlike the traditional pothole repairs in which hot tar is dropped into a pothole, flattened with a jack hammer and sealed with the slippery over banding this new technique, developed by a company called ASI, is much safer for motorcyclists.

By super heating the area around the pothole to 200 degrees Celcius using a Rhinopatch Infra-Red heater the tarmac is melted, raked up and then steam-rollered.

Repairing a pothole this way costs £25, takes 15 minutes and is safer for bikers. MCN thinks more councils should follow suit and adopt this method of repair.
