Four in Crown Court over Hells Angel murder

Four men appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via a video link on Monday over the murder of Hells Angel Gerard Tobin on the M40.

Simon Turner, 40, Dane Garside, 41, and Sean Creighton, 43, are charged with are charged with murder and a firearms offence, and Dean Taylor, 45, with a firearms offence.

The four spoke only to identify themselves as their names were read out.
A date for a plea and case management hearing was set for November 26.

No application for bail was made and the four were told by the judge they would remain in custody until that hearing.

The men were arrested two weeks ago following raids on two addresses in Coventry and one in Nuneaton in which a dark coloured Rover car, a van and a firearm were seized.

A second Rover with fire damage was also seized.

Gerard Tobin, 35, was killed by a single bullet to the back of the head as he rode between Junctions 12 and 13 of the M40 southbound on August 12. He had earlier attended the Bulldog Bash at Long Marston Airfield.

Warwickshire Police revealed afterwards they were hunting a dark coloured Rover 600 series in connection with the killing.

Gerard Tobin was a Canadian national who had spent the last 10 years in the UK. He lived in south London, where he worked as a mechanic for Warrs Harley-Davidson.
