Fuel injection looks set to take the off-road world by storm with Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki and KTM joining Suzuki in ditching their carburettors on their 2009 production off-road motorcycles.

The new models feature a Keihin fuel injection system. Among the bikes using the new Keihin fuel injection system are the Kawasaki KX250F and KX450F-SR, Honda’s CRF450R and Suzuki’s RMZ250 – the Suzuki RMZ450 already had fuel injection.

Yamaha says it will use fuel injection in 2010, meaning Yamahas 250 and 450 engines will have remained unchanged in 10 years.
