Norwich named as king of the scooters

1 of 1

Norwich has been dubbed Britain’s Scooter Capital by motorcycle insurance firm Bennetts, with an impressive 1 in 20 residents in the city owning a scooter.

Data from the firm suggests Norwich could take the tag of European Scooter Capital by 2020, by overtaking the current leader Rome, where 1 in 6 residents commute by scoot.

Norwich fended off competition from Portsmouth and Leicester, which had the 2nd and 3rd highest proportion of scooter owners in Britain.

Perhaps surprisingly, London didn’t even make Bennetts top 10 list, which was rounded out by Bristol, Newcastle, Liverpool, Cardiff, Sheffield, Birmingham, and Glasgow respectively.
