Entrants are flooding in for MCN’s Britain’s Got Biking Talent – and here’s a selection of some of the best so far.
They're just a small hint at of the level of competition to beat. But if you think your motorcycle’s special enough, it will be worth the effort.
You’ll be in with a chance to win a bunch of great prizes - including £1000 cash and hundreds of pounds worth of kit and insurance - plus your motorbike could feature in the Carole Nash 2009 calendar.
All you need to do is upload a photo or video of your bike to our special gallery for Britain’s Got Biking Talent backed by Carole Nash, where motorcyclenews.com users will vote for the winner.
Bike: Ducati 900SS ‘Project Imola’
Rider: Edward Lowdell, 40
What’s special: “A crashed 1994 900SS was used as donor bike to create this combination of 1970s style with the performance, reliability and relative simplicity of the modern 900SS. Among other things, it has forged high-compression pistons, lightweight clutch basket, ported heads, Keihin 39mm flat-side carb, polished stainless exhaust downpipes and silencers, an aircraft-spec steel tank, bespoke Öhlins shocks and Brembo cast iron fully floating discs. It regularly sees action on the road and track.”
Bike: Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5 custom street bike
Rider: Kirk Claus, 43
What’s special: “It has a powder coated translucent red frame and a stretched single-sided swing-arm with integrated twin-pot brake caliper, 17-inch chrome wheels, chrome plated internally shortened front forks with custom fork caps, a chrome rear shock, race-spec calipers, and fully floating wavy discs.”
Rider: Alan Jack, 31
What’s special: “Full carbon bodywork, including bellypan and fuel tank, chopped down Akrapovic exhaust, rear sets from an official PowerCup series race bike re-anodised in red, crash protectors, raised rear suspension for quicker steering, Double Evolution air filters, short levers.”
Bike: Suzuki B-King turbo
Rider: Steve Woods, 40
What’s special: “This was the first B-King turbo in the world and is still the most powerful. It has a Big CC modular turbo kit with a two-stage boost controller. The engine has been heavily modified with turbo pistons and heavy duty nuts, studs, stainless steel valves and springs and adjustable cam sprockets.”
