Motorcycle tax evasion report

1 of 1

MP Edward Leigh recently claimed that 40 percent of motorcycles are untaxed, but a government report has revealed that this figure is ludicrous.

Edward Leigh MP said: “Motorcyclists are particularly liable to evade road tax. Nearly 40% of motorcycles are now unlicensed.”

The report reveals that, rather than 40 percent of motorcycles been untaxed, only 6.5 percent are untaxed.

These figures may still be artificially high because motorcycle registration plates were checked manually, instead of by a computer system.
