World first Suzuki GSX-R600 test: "The engine is lovely"

1 of 3

MCN Road Tester Adam Child has just had his first ride about Suzuki’s new GSX-R600 at Misano, Italy in very British-style mist and damp.

He’s managing to tip toe around the circuit and his first impressions of the bike are that the tricky conditions are not ideal at pushing the sports 600 to it’s limits.

However, the bike is working really well through the very fast fourth and fifth gear corners. In the slower corners the bike has a tendency to feel slightly vague when braking deep into the turn from the front end.

As the heat builds up in the tyre, confidence improves and Chad’s hoping that after a few suspension tweaks the slightly vague feeling of the front end will be rectified.

Chad’s impressed with the engine and mid range and the brakes have a lovely feel, he’s going to keep riding for the remainder of the afternoon.
