Michael Schumacher crashes Honda Fireblade at Sachsenring

Michael Schumacher’s chances of victory at the forthcoming German Superbike races at Sachsenring don’t look good, after the former F1 champion threw his Honda Fireblade away mid-corner during practice.

The racer is preparing to take on Germany’s motorcycle racing elite for the second time in the 2008 season this weekend, aboard a Holzhauer Racing-prepared Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade.

Schumacher had slipped down to the circuit last Thursday to get in some early practice ahead of the race weekend on June 21 and 22. It looks like the practice is much needed, as these pictures show the former F1 racer apparently losing the front end.

It’s not the first time Schumacher has kissed the tarmac, after lobbing the Honda during his first German Superbike race at Oscherslaben in May, and also losing control during a pre-season meeting in April.
