The Vincent Rapide ridden by land speed record chaser Marty Dickerson is due to be auctioned in Los Angeles in October.

The American took two Class C land-speed records at Bonneville on his Rapide, which was nicknamed the Blue Bike, achieving a top speed of 141.72mph in 1952, and 147.56 mph in 1953.

The bike is one of the lots in an annual Bonhams auction of imported bikes and cars, which includes the sale of some of Steve McQueen’s personal effects.

The auction is scheduled to be held at the Petersen Automotive Museum on October 25.
