1 of 1

MCN Fantasy Road Race 2009 is now open for entries. Visit the registration page to sign up your team for free and be in with a chance of winning a brand new Yamaha R6.

You have £10 million to spend on 6 riders- 2 from MotoGP, WSB and BSB. You must register your team before February 28th. Over the course of the season there will be 7 transfer windows, with a maximum of 3 rider changes per game. There will also be a £230 set of Bridgestone tyres for the winner of each of the eight rounds.

Last year’s winner, Chris Penny, has some useful tips on how to succeed in Fantasy Road Race 2009:

“I went back a couple of years and checked what tyres riders using, what bikes were fastest and checked which riders could ride best at which circuits. I’d say one of the key things was working out which riders perform at certain circuit.

“For example, I know Noriyuki Haga isn’t very good at the start of the season even though he is my favourite rider. He doesn’t come on until halfway through the season so I waited a few races before bringing him in.

“I tend to focus mostly on WSB and BSB because of the two-race format. But for me you’ve got to have Rossi. He is the most expensive but he is guaranteed to score you loads of points.

“I started off with Colin Edwards and he was doing very well but I changed my GP riders at least twice. You have got to use those transfer windows because you can clear out those riders not doing very well or bring in somebody who is performing better. That is crucial and I must have near or enough used all the changes that are allowed.

“At the end of the day though it doesn’t matter how much time you research it, it is all about luck at the end of the day. It just arms you with a bit more information about it if you look back at results and form. My mates were taking the micey out of me for how in-depth I looked into it, but at the end of the day I won the bike”.
