1 of 1

The treasured number plate ‘HA55 LAM’ is to be auctioned by the DVLA.

The agency is expecting bids from fans of racing legend Ron Haslam and his British Superbike star son Leon Haslam

Damian Lawson, the DVLA’s personalised registrations marketing manager, said: “Their surname is synonymous with motorbike racing. There’s no denying our registration HA55 LAM is the perfect opportunity for someone to show their respect.”

Just don’t mention it’s spelt wrong.

The registration will go under the hammer alongside ‘1 0’ – said by the DVLA to be seen as “one of the last great registrations”, with a £10,000 reserve – at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire, on January 29.

Others will include ‘3 S’ and ‘1 HRH’.
