Is this the new Guzzi Le Mans?

Moto Guzzi look set to unveil a brand new concept bike at the Milan Show, which could pave the way for an all-new version of its legendary Le Mans.

These teaser images of design sketches of the machine have just been posted on the Moto Guzzi website (www.motoguzzi.it) and announce that “A revolutionary new machine designed by ex-Ducati designer Pierre Terrblanche will be unveiled at the Milan Show this Thursday”. The images clearly show an aggressive, sports orientated machine in traditional Moto Guzzi livery and using the Mandello marque’s trademark, across-the-frame V-twin.

In addition, MCN has learnt that the new concept machine is codenamed the ‘V12-LM’ by the factory, with the V12 element obviously referring to Guzzi’s current 1200cc V-twin engine.

Does the ‘LM’ part stand for Le Mans? So reviving Guzzi’s most iconic machine which, in original 850cc guise, was one of the most desireable sports bikes of the 1970s and finally went out of production, except for a brief revival as a rebadged V11, way back in the early 1990s…
