New British bike firm wants to hear from you!

You’ve still got time to have your say about which motor new British bike firm Mac sticks in its first bike.

The company had planned to use the 500cc Buell Blast single in its range of four bikes.

But when Eric Buell publically rubbished the bike – going as far as to stick it in a crusher – they had to go back to the drawing board.

They have proposed replacing the Blast’s single with liquid-cooled Yamaha XT 660 motor, which would add 14bhp and dramatically alter the look of the bikes.

The picture of the Spud, which will be the first bike to come to life, shows the changes.

The company has created a page on its website where potential customers can leave their opinions.

So far the consensus has been that a Japanese engine is not the way to go, with Mac fans preferring the simplicity of a single and suggesting the use of a Triumph motor.
