BMW’s magnificent S1000RR has already proved itself to be the most powerful and technologically-advanced superbike money can buy.

It’s turned the sports bike world on its head.

Now dealers BMW Park Lane are catering for S1000RR customers who want take their BMW on track, by producing aftermarket parts like fairings and rearsets.

On top of that, the really innovative bit is they’ll build you a complete track bike for racing or trackdays, and will even take you along to a trackday and assist you with set-up.

BMW Park Lane have joined forces with racing outfit Vari-Trac (to create Team Vari-Trac BMW Park Lane) and are campaigning superstock-spec S1000RRs in the MRO Stocksport 1000 championship to showcase what they can do for their customers.

The team, run by Rick Capella (who ran Shakey Byrne in his privateer GSX-R750 BSB days), will be at the Focused Events Brands GP trackday next Thursday 13th May with their race bikes and standard S1000RRs for interested customers.

They’ll also be racing with regular riders Stefan Capella and new signing Steve Mercer that weekend (15th/16th May) at the Kent track.

MCN’s Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves has been given the opportunity to be a part of Team Vari-Trac BMW Park Lane for the trackday and the weekend’s races to find out how the operation ticks and see how a superstock version of the already brilliant S1000RR is like to race.
