Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition first impressions

Ducati’s new special edition Pikes Peak version of its 1200S Multistrada is about to arrive in dealers and MCN Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves is currently getting a first ride, exclusively for MCN. This what he has to say:

“I’ve been lucky enough to spend the past week with Ducati’s new Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition. Yours for £16,750 (the full production S Sport it’s based on costs £14,795), it’s been produced to celebrate Greg Tracy’s victory in last year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race in Colorado.

Changes to the standard version are cosmetic – there’s a special Ducati Corse-inspired paintjob, a red-stitched seat custom seat, a quiet, road-legal carbon fibre stubby Termignoni end can and low carbon fibre race screen, which compliments the carbon fibre goodies already fitted to the Sport S.

The Mutlistrada’s new outfit now makes it as good to look at as it is to ride. The Ducati really does excel in all areas. I’ve been shopping on it, down the motorway and taken the back roads to work every day and it’s phenomenal. It’s comfy and relaxing when you want it to be, but rapid when you’re in the mood too.

Read our full review in next week’s MCN.”
