Italian magazine Motociclismo has scooped images of the new Ducati 1199 superbike according to a story on the website. The full story will be out later this week in Italy.

It appears studio images of the new Ducati 1199 superbike have been leaked months ahead of the public launch of the bike in November at the Milan motorcycle show.

The image, covered with a watermark of the magazine, shows the face of the new 185bhp V-twin superbike which MCN caught testing on track at Mugello in Italy twice in the past month. The most recent test saw former World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss riding the bike.

Motociclismo claim the bike will be called Xtreme which flies in the face of MCN insider information which says this isn’t the case and it will almost certainly be called 1199.

One source told MCN: “The XTreme name was something that was used within Ducati. It’s not the name of the bike which is almost definitely going to be 1199.”
