Kawasaki refuses to deny new Versys 1000 adventure bike

Kawasaki is refusing to deny the authenticity of a new 1000cc Versys that appears in spy shots emerging from French online motorcycle magazine Moto-Net.com, saying simply it ‘has no details’ about the bike, suggesting an official EICMA launch may be imminent.

The Versys, clearly bearing ‘1000’ decals and sporting what appears to be Z1000 main frame and engine, with a Versys 650-style steel subframe, would be Kawasaki’s first leap into the full-bore adventure bike class since the V-Strom-cloned (and possibly just ill-timed) KLV1000 of 2004-06.

Like Ducati’s Multistrada the Versys 1000 will have an almost total road bias, though unlike that bike its part-sharing should keep it to a sub-five-figure price.
