Along with the new Yamaha YZF-R1 the firm is releasing a series of new colours including a World Grand Prix 50th Anniversary range and a new Series Grey colour option.

The R1 is the only model in the Yamaha 2012 range with any significant changes. It gains a six-way adjustable traction control system and a small list of other changes. See the separate story for the full details on the R1.

The 50th Anniversary models include the R1, YZF-R6, YZF-R125, FZ8 and Aerox 50 scooter. The paintscheme celebrates the firm’s participation in World Championship racing and uses the paintjob first used by Yamaha in America in the 1960s and is currently being used by the MotoGP racers Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies.

The new Series Grey is available on the same bikes but also adds the Fazer8 and XT1200Z Super Tenere adventure bike.

The massive-selling YBR125 commuter bike is also now available in Mistral Grey.
