Hmm . . . I've got a Transalp and now you mention it . . . that picture looks suspiciously like a Transalp profile with some harder angles photoshopped in here and there . . . ! Rear grab-rail and tail-light assembly is identical, ditto the seat and the exhaust, general tank profile is the same but with a sharper angled profile at the side, screen and top cowling are the same . . . !

Oh and in that pic it looks almost identical in profile to the 2008 Transalp . . . Surely the Italians, of all people, could come up with a more striking and original design concept???

I had two Aprilia Pegaso bikes before, the first, back in the early 1990's was an absolute gem with a 600cc Rotax engine and the second was the 650model that used Yamaha's XTZ engine . . . still good but I preferred the ride, weight and performance of the previous one even if both felt a bit underpowered at the upper end. My absolute favourite though was the Gilera Nordwest that I had in between, with the same Rotax engine as the first Peg . . . sadly Gilera went west in the late 90's and is now a humble scooter manufacturer. This 750 Pegaso proposal looks thrilling as an idea but the end result will probably be somewhat heavy and cumbersome, robbing the bike of the lightness and tractability that was present in the first Pegaso but which deteriorated in later models. Why not go for the excellent 550cc 70degree twin that Aprilia used in the RXV / SXV bikes, tuned for better midrange?
