It Looks like the ever persecuted motorcyclist is to be trageted again on some of our favourite routes in Derbyshire.

I came accross the tender below for “automatic motocycle detection system” to be linked to anpr etc.

Big brother is about to get a little more sophisticated. Pity they cannot spend this ammount of energy or funding catching criminals!

The Contract is for the supply of equipment and services in order to accurately detect motorcycles and to facilitate the automatic operation of Variable Message Signs (VMS), Video Data Capture (VDC) and a further potential option of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). A fundamental part of this project is the accurate detection of motorcyclists and the user defined triggering of VMS, VDC and ANPR. The aim is to provide Systems for 8 (eight) key routes in the countyh that have been identified as dangerous motorcycle routes. The System must be Turnkey, providing all elements required i.e. hardware, power supply, communications, all site engineering and associated hardware, commissioning, testing, and validation of the System.
