Road dressing gravel caused my crash

1 of 2

While travelling on the A941 Rhynie to Dufftown Road I had the misfortune to fall off on a bend over a bridge Just south of th Grouse Inn.

I was only doing between 25-30 mph as It is a double bend over the bridge and could not understand how the back of my bike broke away so quickly, until I examined the road surface.

They had been jet patching the road, although there was no signs anywhere to warn of this but the road was 2 inches deep in new surface dressing all across the northbound carriageway.

I informed the roads department of the dangerous condition of the road and the fact that there were no signs warning road users, and expected them to clear it up.

Two weeks later I came back to photograph the scene and found that nothing had been done.

So local bikers beware ,it is the north side of the bridge exit that all the debris is on.

The photograph with the boot has a ruler standing on its own in about 1-2 inches of gravel. The other photograph shows the volume of gravel lying on the road.

PLEASE BE AWARE as the roads department obviously did not take me seriously.
